Exploration well on Culzean Alpha with a Joanne Sandstone primary and Pentland secondary objective on an east dipping tilted fault block located between two east-west trending faults. Mapped closure is 14,200–15,400 ft at top Pentland and the well was located 694 ft high to possible hydrocarbon saturation in 22/25a-1. The Pentland and Joanne objectives were encountered close to prognosis, at 14,701 ft and 14,906 ft TVDSS respectively, but only 10 ft of hydrocarbons were encountered at the top of the Pentland. A hydrocarbon sample was recovered, plus water samples from the Pentland and Upper Joanne.
