Horizontal appraisal well on Lancaster oil discovery with a Precambrian (Lewisian) basement objective. Mapped at base Upper Cretaceous, Lancaster is a large, east-west trending dip-closure located over the crest of the Rona Ridge. The well encountered oil in the fractured basement objective and tested at a maximum sustainable rate of 5,300 bopd on natural flow and a maximum 9,800 bopd on ESP. Oil gravity was 38° API.
