New Play Concept in an Undeveloped Basin

The Channel Basin is part of a larger structural system, which included the Wessex, Weald and Western Approaches Basin. All these basins overlie the Variscan (Devono-Carboniferous) basement and it was exploitation of the Variscan structural framework, created by the consolidation of the Pangaean supercontinent, which resulted in the present day configuration.
