Designated an appraisal well, the 30/6a-9 well tested the northern extension of the Jasmine Field; part of a drilling programme to prove incremental reserves to support planned Phase 3 development. The main Jasmine Field area consists of several Triassic fault blocks on a large turtleback structure along the western flank of the Joanne Zechstein salt pillow with gas/condensate at 13,500–15,300 ft. The turtleback form a large, grounded Triassic sediment pod, with salt withdrawal resulting in strong faulting over the Jasmine structure. The well drilled a northern extension of this structure, but on a separate fault block. The well was abandoned tight.
