Exploration well on Niobe, an Upper Jurassic Burns Sandstone pinch-out in the mid Volgian J72.1 Lower Sandstone unit onto a major Jurassic tilted fault block structure with dip-closure to the north and marked by strong seismic amplitudes. The J72.1 Lower Sandstone objective, at 3,866 ft had a gross thickness of 93 ft, a net/gross of 0.708, porosity 23.8% and Sw of 86.1%. Although logs indicated some possible residual saturation, no oil or significant gas shows were recorded and the well was abandoned dry.
