Vertical exploration well on Romeo prospect; low relief faulted anticline with no closure in time but mapped closure at Leman Sandstone objective from 8,725–8,842 ft TVDSS. Well 79 ft deep to prognosis due to thick Werraanhydrit with 32 ft gas column in Weissliegend facies from 8,852 ft to gas-water contact 8,884 ft TVDSS and 31.75 ft net pay, with average porosity 18% and mean core permeability 63 mD. Gas and water samples recovered. Well and remapping indicated severe lateral distortion in the Zechstein velocity field with a major downgrade in GIIP making Romeo non-commercial.
