Released Well 13/25-1

Exploration well on Bagpuss, a low-relief fault block on the Halibut Horst to confirm mobile oil in Lower Cretaceous calcarenite, granite wash and fractured basement. Oil was encountered in these reservoirs by 13/24a-2A, but the reservoir was not logged and no samples were recovered. The 13/25-1 well encountered a 69 ft oil column in the Lower Cretaceous, with 41 ft of net pay and porosities of 25–33%. Dead oil samples were recovered from cuttings, mud samples and oil smears on down-hole equipment and were of a degraded heavy oil with a mean gravity 12.5° API (range 11–19°). Water sample recovered from oil zone.
