First appraisal well on the Cragganmore discovery; a pinch-out trap dipping NE from 11,400 to most likely gas-water contact at 11,950 ft, with gas in ponded lower Vaila Formation (T22 sequence) slope fan sandstones with conformable amplitudes and Class II AVO indicating gas distribution. Well drilled vertically with main objective to drill and test full gas column to demonstrate commercial rates in low permeability reservoir and acquire data to support stand-alone field development plan. Well encountered full gas column in T22 sand at 11,558–11,790 ft TVDSS, but flowed at low rates with test data cores and logs showing very poor permeability and non-commercial net pay.
